I have a 1999 Explorer. Lately, when I am going at least 35 mph and turning to the left, it makes a noise like an airplane taking off. It seems to be coming from the front driver’s side wheel area. My husband says it might be the CV joints. Yes? Is that expensive or complicated to fix? Is it dangerous if I don’t get it fixed? Any info would be great!
Back brakes were replaced last year, and the brake pads up front were replaced at the beginning of this year. It only makes the noise when I turn left (?) and I can’t FEEL any difference. When my brake pads were going out, I could feel it in the way the car moved when I braked. But with this, there is no change in the performance of the car, just that funny roar. Sorry, I don’t know all the terminology.

How much would a mechanic cost for a blown head gasket?

The car is $2500 plus the repairs.
